With the new season upon us, there is so much for us to take in within the fashion world! Fashion week lures our interest to the runways and our style icons as they bask in the chaos of FW in their haute couture gowns. Fashion shows are always an amazing place to derive inspiration for our seasonal updates; not to mention draw our attention back to our existing wardrobes.
Take heed, you are not the only one feeling doughty in your last year's clothes, I don't believe that replacing our wardrobe is the answer though. This is where you must find a few of the right items to update your look, you can achieve high end up to date style with just a few simple pieces. Some of this season's best essentials are classic, easy to wear pieces in warm muted colors! Pay attention to color and texture!
1. FUR: Real or faux but ensure you have a small piece in your closet. I died and went to heaven at Michael Kors last week with all of the Fur - Faux-Fur! A coat, vest, shawl or trim around a collar is a great way to eloquently achieve high-end style. Check out Juicy Couture, Almost Famous, Loft, Rachel Roy Collection at The Bay and your local Vintage Shops for more options.
2. Animal: Meow! Animal print is huge this season, whether it is the pattern you find at the tips of your toes, hanging from the strap of your purse or a blouse you wear out, this is the pattern of Fall/Winter 2010.
3. Camel Coat: This is the season of the coat and camel is the staple! This over the top luxurious cover makes me almost yearn for snow to fall! The simplicity of this look makes it an easy piece for almost everyone to wear and yes, there is a shade of camel out there for everyone!
4. Warmed Floral Patterns: Warm floral prints are a great way to go, toasted or shaded these prints will add variety and a whole lot of interest to your look! Prints are fabulous because they enable you to wear two or more solid colors and pull together a harmonious color scheme.
5. Knit Wear: Can you think of a shirt more highly wearable in Canada's harsh winter climates. Sway away from sticking with only solid sweaters, this season gravitate toward patterns. Pair this go-to look with body shimmying bottoms.
